Denmark's oldest food store chain, Irma, has opened a new concept in the form of Lille Irma. Whereas other smaller stores are starting to look more and more like kiosks, Lille Irma goes the other way and has created a setting for a local food store that focuses on the love of food and organic and seasonal produce, based on local customers' needs and wishes. This means the Lille Irma concept has literally been developed with input from those who live just around the corner.
Together with Irma, Expedit developed the fittings for the new store concept Lille Irma. The fittings concept oozes simplicity, quality and elegance. Blacks, greys and light birch frame a highly Scandinavian look.
Expedit has supplied everything from fruit & vegetables, the bakery, wine, coffee, demonstration tables to gable solutions and focus tables for canopy solutions.
"Expedit is our partner in store design and we have an excellent cooperation with them when it comes to developing the concept and rolling out an effective delivery," says Lars Børresen, department manager for store set-up in Irma.
Lille Irma set to grow
The first Lille Irma opened in Østerbrogade in Copenhagen. The aim is for the new Lille Irma concept to open in 15-20 locations in Copenhagen within the next two years. This will be achieved partly through converting existing Irma stores, and partly through opening completely new ones.
